"So Let's Dance"

About Us

Adelaide Dance Project is a ballroom and Latin social dance school.

We specialise in teaching people new to dance, how to dance; by creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere that is perfect for learning.

We teach people at all stages and levels of ability, whether youโ€™ve been dancing for 1 year or 5 years or are a beginner or advanced dancer.

The first lesson is always on us!

John Perrotta

Director

Owner and lead instructor at Adelaide Dance Project, John is a ballroom & Latin dance teacher and choreographer who commenced his dancing journey 20 years ago in the style of salsa. John quickly found a passion for dancing and was soon asked to perform locally and Australia-wide.

John branched out into teaching and choreographing his routines 9 years ago and has since taken up teaching and performing a variety of ballroom styles including Rumba and Tango. He currently runs his studio from the Fogolar Furlan in Felixtow, teaching beginners all the way through to advanced levels. His witty and easy-going nature and an eye for detail make his learning style fun but with a technical edge.

Our Dance Instructor Team

Monica Valeaโ€‹

I started my dancing journey late in life, I was 40. ๐Ÿ˜‰
A friend of mine said: “Come and try ballroom dancing with me. I know a great teacher!”๐Ÿ’ƒ
I wasn’t convinced, but I did give it a go and never regretted my decision.
Since then, I saw how much joy dancing brings to people, and I wanted to be a small part of their journeys.
Dancing is happiness!๐ŸŽ‰

Carla

Carla has been dancing for over 20 years, having learned with outstanding instructors from all over the globe. While her first love is Salsa and Mambo, she loves to experiment with all Latin rhythms and variations!

Get ready to brush up on your fundamentals and build your confidence on the dance floor.

On her free time Carla loves to hang out with her super cool doggies and go for long walks by the beach.

The beach and the sea are her happy places, so when she’s not teaching (or organising).

Mark Fox

I commenced dancing in July 2018. What started as a favour to help out a friend looking for a dance partner soon turned into a passion of my own and one that I have continued to enjoy every since. Like all beginners, it took me some time to recognise what dance matched the music and many times I thought that โ€œI will never get this!โ€. However, as time progresses, so did I and soon the dances became comfortable and I sensed the development of my own style of dance and lead. Like most things, I have my preferred dances but I encourage students to consider all styles, some of my favourite and most rewarding styles of dance are those that held little appeal for me initially. I have now been teaching for approximately 18 months, I feel great joy and pride in being part of the development of my students and for introducing them to an activity that is social, engaging, diverse and provides a good level of physical fitness.
